Meeting Minutes 28/02/2018

For the 16th March 16+ at Tilt, we had a meeting today, we had to ask about the:

  • Tickets
  • Beer (they’re getting it?)
  • Decorations
  • Vestiaire (they can do it, but then we don’t get the money)
  • They let so many non-euroschool people in last time We need to figure out how much money we can spend, the tickets will be 12€ before the party and 15€ at the door

We need to make posters about socialising in the canteen, the beer bottle in the 6-7th year room and the 16+.

  • Prom:
    • There was a meeting between Mr Lufi and Mr Wedel, we’ll know what happened tomorrow.
    • We’ll have it with the ASF (who need the money in May)

The Football Tournament will be on the 9th, 10th, or 11th of May in Gasperich or Bertrange. Only the players will have to pay 5-7€.

We’re making the payment for the hoodies.

Cosup:

  • Proposals are:

a) A language policy: i) Standardisation of languages across schools. When you arrive to a European school, they want to test what L1 is best for you. ii) L2 to be in 4 languages (the three that already exist and the national language). iii) L3 to begin in 4th year of primary. iv) People who arrive late get L4 instead of L3 in 4th year, but can’t drop it until the Bac. v) Music, Art and gym in L2-3 (now it’s just in whatever language) vi) If you’re good enough at a language, you can take distance courses (starting in 4th year - this is good to balance the fact that SWALS often are ahead of the rest of the class)

b) Pre-bacs: i) Pre-bacs without weighing. ii) Pre-bacs in 6th year. iii) Transformation of pre-bacs to project work (nobody really knows what they mean).

You can check the group for details on the proposals.

  • Lux 2 brought up having exams on computers in tests with lots of writing, Cosup is looking into into it.
  • Inspectors could talk more to the pupils anonymously about the teachers.
  • The complaints system is not great.
  • Sexual education should include non-biological aspects, such as consent.
  • Accredited schools are getting their own version of Cosup.
  • Cosup has an instagram account.

  • Euronight:
    • The contract needs signing
    • We want the party to officially start at 8
    • 15€ is the ticket price
    • We need to talk to Melusina about security
    • There isn’t an official theme (smart casual is the dress code)
    • The decoration should be minimalist
    • The photobooth might be expensive, we could look into getting it from Germany
    • Cosup wants music in the main room to be commercial and trap (thanks, Brussels) and the music in the lounge to be house, techno and maybe drum & bass. We should ask around the school for people willing to DJ, and if you find someone, they should send a 20-30 minute sample of one of their mixes to Marks or Liza
  • We could have someone in PC or Cosup who has experience for the Conseils de Discipline

Scott’s Bar is no longer an option for the 4th of May 16+.

The Parent’s Association want us to advertise a talent show at the Fete de l’Ecole.
